How to choose an IT partner: protecting yourself from a mistake

The wrong IT partner means blown deadlines, extra costs and an abandoned project. Here are criteria for choosing right.

Business

A software project often fails because the cheapest offer was chosen. A low price looks appealing, but if the partner drags out deadlines, cuts off contact or abandons the work halfway, it costs far more. That's why you choose an IT partner by reliability, not price.

What to look at

  • Experience: have they done similar projects before
  • Communication: do they answer questions clearly and on time
  • Transparency: are price, deadlines and process laid out clearly
  • Support: do they help after launch too
  • Ownership: will the code and data be yours, or will you become dependent

Warning signs

  • They say «yes, easy» to everything — a real project is full of questions and constraints
  • They won't name a firm price or estimate very vaguely
  • They don't provide a written agreement and brief
  • They can't show past work

A small test

Before handing over a big project all at once, start with a small stage. Through one module or a pilot, judge the partner's working style, communication and quality. Trust is tested by deeds, not promises.

We work transparently: a clear brief, understandable price and deadlines, staged delivery and support after launch. The code and data are yours.

Shall we start your project?
